LATEST NEWS 2021
It's safe to say that 2020 was an incredibly difficult and uncertain year trying to find a way forward whilst juggling family life and yet remain creative in the absence of live gigs. In some ways it was incredibly busy with any remaining work moving online and I've been lucky enough to do a few online gigs (with Hot Dub Time Machine in Australia and Playtime here in Edinburgh). Multifarious released a new album and I presented a children's jazz workshops for Edinburgh Jazz and Blues Festival.
I've had fantastic new students at Edinburgh, Durham, Newcastle and Northumberland Universities as well as being able to work on improvising with young folk in Highland Region. It's been great to stay in touch with friends and colleagues in the US doing some remote coaching with the lovely folks at Georgia Southern University and also giving a presentation at the North American Saxophone Alliance (Region 2) Conference in Nebraska.
I'm sure 2021 will continue to keep us all on our toes! Stay safe and well.
Just before lockdown last March we managed to squeeze in a visit to Chattanooga where we had a couple of really lovely gigs as well as being interviewed and playing some tunes on the Richard Winham Show at WUTC Radio (you can listen to the interview here). We have now released our first album which you can purchase on Bandcamp. You can also follow Multifarious news on our new website and on Facebook and Instagram.
